Dr. Romas enjoys working with children and strives to provide them with an enjoyable, non-threatening visit. A child’s first visit should be between one and two years of age. At that time we can assess if everything is developing normally and instruct parents on how to start their children on a healthy oral hygiene routine. When your child is ready for their first visit we suggest that you bring them in during one of your routine visits to get acclimated to the office, see what happens, experience that it is not scary, and it doesn’t hurt. During a very young child’s first “happy” visit we will give them a ride in the chair and let them play with the air/water instrument. If they are comfortable and will allow us, we will count their teeth and do an exam of their mouth. We want your child to enjoy coming to visit us so we never push them.
For older children we will do an exam, clean their teeth, do x-rays if indicated, do a fluoride treatment and instruct them on the proper way to brush and floss their teeth.
